It was a fantastic conference, and thanks to all of you who plastered me with questions after (both) of my sessions. I'll try to get to as many answers as I can on the blog site, but if I miss one, just email me (you can email me right through the blog site).
Of those topics coming:
*More on Full-Text Search and Backup/Restore (especially moving ...

If you're in the area and available, I'll be giving my first 2008 presentation on Tuesday April 8th. It's a general overview of the new features in SQL Server 2008, starting at 4:30 (I think the presentation starts at about 5:30). It will be held at the Microsoft office in Waukesha, WI. The address is:

Recently, the three SQL Server user groups in Colorado hosted the third annual Colorado PASSCamp – this year extending the free event to two days.
The second day keynote was a rousing panel discussion hosted and video taped by CS TechCast with SQL Server CatTeam guru Kevin Cox, myself and .Net developer Ben Hoelting.
This year we had a ...

So I generally speak at PASS every year. Unless I've offended the powers that be, I will again. So, I have an open question to colleagues and readers and those that have come to my sessions - what would you like to know more about? Perhaps everyone could use this post as a way to decide on topics. PASS is a very user-group oriented conference ...

If you happen to be in Europe, or are looking for a time to vacation in Europe, be aware that there will be a PASS Europe. There will be some one single day seminars to start things off, I believe Greg Low is the keynote, and someone with a very German name will be speaking there (in English of course). I don't have a topic yet for any session, so ...

I recently saw a post on one of the MCT forums asking which conference should be attended - TechEd IT Pro, TechEd Dev or PASS when it comes to SQL education. I posted a reply there favoring TechEd (either). I need to defend that a bit better.
One reply to that post pointed out that SQL Server is considered ITPro by MS when it come to ...

This is hot off the presses!
I will be presenting for the UK Server Server UG in Reading, November 16 at the Microsoft campus. The presentation will be similar to my preconference session at PASS, with a few enhancements and extra details.
You can read about it here:

If you're UK-based, I hope to see you ...

I was at the PASS Conference in Denver last week, as were many of my fellow bloggers. Although I didn't post a day-by-day report, I did actually learn some new things at PASS, and not just from the developers on the SQL Server team at Microsoft.
In addition to learning new things, I also had a chance to have fun. The SQL Server MVPs went ...

I have already given a rundown of most everything PASS here on my personal blog, including a series of posts with pictures too over the days of PASS) but since this blog is all about things technical with SQL Server, I wanted to just rundown of some of the cool stuff I learned about SQL Server 2008 that I hadn't heard before...
You can ...

OK, I'm really ashamed to plug one of my own sessions, but I do highly recommend this session (or type of session - Peter Ward is doing something similar, as are a number of others).
If you're fuzzy on any of these questions, you may find this of interest:
What's the difference between RAID 10 and RAID 0+1?
Which is worse, bandwidth or latency ...
