Rob, thanks so much for sharing. I've been a presenter for a long time (similar places as yours - technical contexts, church, etc), and I knew some (maybe a lot) of what you're saying intuitively. However, I still found myself metaphorically hitting my forehead and saying 'duh' with what you wrote. Knowing the subject matter really well is absolutely paramount to being comfortable as a presenter. I appreciate the well-articulated insight.
