I’ve always liked Bill Gates. And when he began his foundation he earned more respect. Like Carnegie is remember for building libraries, I hope that in a couple centuries, Bill is remembered more for his work fighting poverty than his founding of Microsoft.

If I had to guess, the success of Microsoft probably did more to fight poverty than his foundation will. That doesn't mean you can't do both though. Build your business and then do something with the resulting wealth.
