SQL Server products from Quest Software

Hi everyone,

There are a couple new product updates to mention at Quest.

First, I am happy to announce the release of InTrust for Databases 2.2

What is it?:

InTrust® for Databases is a fully featured, independent database audit management system that provides maximum visibility into database activities and ensures all corporate database assets remain secure.

In a nutshell, Intrust is the answer to all of your SOX and compliance needs.

What’s New?:
• SQL Server 2005 64-bit support on AMD64 and Intel EM64T monitored hosts
• Enhanced SQL Server and Oracle support on Windows for monitored hosts
• Oracle on Linux 64-bit support on AMD64 and Intel EM64T monitored hosts
• Plug-in to Microsoft Reporting Services for report development (attached sample report output)

Quest has also released a new version of Toad for SQL Server and Toad for SQL Server FREEWARE.  We're giving away an iPod per week to one lucky contributor to our survey: https://vovici.com/wsb.dll/s/37ccg2f96c.  You can check out all of the awesome features of Toad for SQL Server Freeware at: http://www.toadsoft.com/toadsqlserver/toad_sqlserver.htm.  If you want the Commercial version not the Freeware, but are too much of a cheapskate to spend cash for it, why not participate in the beta program (at the same URL)?

Enjoy!

To clarify, I downloaded TOAD Freeware and Beta

Beta has long expired already, so don't bother downloading it

Freeware seems alright, I was pretty hooked on it, until it hang on me couple times

- once during restore a backup - it did restore 100% but screen froze

- once during something else I can't remember now

back to SSMS now

Responding to Jerry Hung's comments,

first, thanks Jerry for downloading and evaluating Toad for SS.

We are working on our major version 4.0 release,

and are getting close to posting a new beta program for it,

but it's not out there yet, hence the expiration of the (old) beta.

I'll work with our dev team to get the old link off our site.

Kevin included the link for the freeware version, but the commercial version of the product has many more productivity functions to save time and grief throughout your day.  You can check it out on a trial basis at

http://www.quest.com/toad-for-sql-server/Software_downloads.aspx.

Lastly, I'm always open to speaking to our customers, and wouldn't mind reaching out to you to understand your needs and requirements surrounding your work with SQL Server.  That invite goes for anyone within the reading scope of this post.

Contact me at your convenience at 949-754-8412 or e-mail me at Gary.Jerep@quest.com.

Cheers.
