SQL Server products from Quest Software

Hi everyone,

There are a couple new product updates to mention at Quest.

First, I am happy to announce the release of InTrust for Databases 2.2

What is it?:

InTrust® for Databases is a fully featured, independent database audit management system that provides maximum visibility into database activities and ensures all corporate database assets remain secure.

In a nutshell, Intrust is the answer to all of your SOX and compliance needs.

What’s New?:
• SQL Server 2005 64-bit support on AMD64 and Intel EM64T monitored hosts
• Enhanced SQL Server and Oracle support on Windows for monitored hosts
• Oracle on Linux 64-bit support on AMD64 and Intel EM64T monitored hosts
• Plug-in to Microsoft Reporting Services for report development (attached sample report output)

Quest has also released a new version of Toad for SQL Server and Toad for SQL Server FREEWARE.  We're giving away an iPod per week to one lucky contributor to our survey:  You can check out all of the awesome features of Toad for SQL Server Freeware at:  If you want the Commercial version not the Freeware, but are too much of a cheapskate to spend cash for it, why not participate in the beta program (at the same URL)?

To clarify, I downloaded TOAD Freeware and Beta

Beta has long expired already, so don't bother downloading it

Freeware seems alright, I was pretty hooked on it, until it hang on me couple times

- once during restore a backup - it did restore 100% but screen froze

- once during something else I can't remember now

back to SSMS now
