The Rambling DBA: Jonathan Kehayias

The random ramblings and rantings of frazzled SQL Server DBA

PASS DBA Special Interest Group Live Meeting

I'll be doing a live meeting event for the PASS DBA Special Interest Group on Wednesday, May 27th at 12pm EST.  The session will cover the default trace in SQL Server 2005 and 2008, what information is contained in the default trace, how to query the default trace for information, and whether you should leave the default trace running on your server.

Meeting Details

Topic: Understanding the Default Trace
Abstract:  Introduced in SQL Server 2005, the default trace is an often overlooked resource when investigating the who, what, and when of what happened in SQL Server.  In this session, SQL Server MVP Jonathan Kehayias will take a look at the Default Trace and how it can be used to take a look into the past to find out what has occurred on your server.
