You covered everything sql but you chose to ignore the 800lb gorilla in the room, LINQ. Pablo works on sql server and wants to influences developers, this guy sells sql server to developers. Isn't it possible there is a link between these two? It's ok to bring up a subject to more than one person:) You seem to feed the idea that even though MS is going away from sql folks here don't need a compass.
