Denis Gobo

Please allow me to introduce myself

Please allow me to introduce myself
Im a man of SQL and Code
I've been around for long, long years
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

I have been invited by Adam to join SQLBlog.com and I thank him for that. Some of you might know me from http://sqlservercode.blogspot.com/ or even from some of the newsgroups where I go by the name Denis the SQL Menace
If you are a Tek-Tips user then you might know me by the name SQLDenis, I am one of the guys answering SQL Questions in the SQL Programming forum
What else? I was born in Croatia in 1970, when I was one I moved to Amsterdam (and yes Ajax is THE team in Holland) and finally in 1993 I came to the US. I have lived in New York City for a bunch of years and currently live in Princeton, New Jersey with my wife and 3 kids. I work for Dow Jones in the index department, one drawback: since our data goes back all the way to May 1896 I cannot use smalldates ;-(
I have been working with SQL server since version 6.5 and compared to all the other bloggers here I am a n00b.
I have already written an article that you can read in about 2 hours, I just finishing it and will publish it around lunch time.

Welcome to the site!

I worked with SQL Server 6.5 for all of one week before switching to 7.0 and never looking back.  So you're not a "n00b" :)

Welcome indeed. I have read you on your other blog and in newsgroup posts.

I wonder, Adam, what it makes me if I started working with SQL Server 7.0 but a couple years into my SQL "career" I actually had to go back and work with 6.5 for a good solid month while 2000 was making it's mark?
