"What's New in Katmai?" - slide deck and demo files

I have posted the slide deck and demo files for the SQL Server 2008 talk I presented to SQL Server user groups in Charlotte NC, Warwick RI and Waltham MA.  There are 11 .sql files and two PowerPoint presentations (one in 97-03 format, and one in 2007 format).  The demo files work against the July CTP, with one minor exception: the DMF demo file relies on you first stepping through the GUI and creating a condition against a table facet, "NAME NOT LIKE tbl%", and then a policy using that condition, set to enforce.  Of course I can't guarantee that everything in the demos will work the same way in the next CTP.

I know that a lot of people have been afraid to install the CTP for fear of it messing up their system.  Well, now you can download a VHD image of Server 2003 that includes the July CTP of Katmai pre-installed, and it will run in Virtual Server or Virtual PC:

So unless your system is just incapable of running a virtual machine, you have one less excuse.  :-)

Aaron -

Great post!  A must-read for all the devs at my organization.

Bummer that Itzik's OVER() requests are being sidelined, at least for now.

Thanks David.  Please notice I recently posted a rather lengthy addendum to my slide deck.  :-)
